“The Wings of Hope Charitable Trust” (Rebuilding Lives) (Regn No - 19020182S/23, under Registrar of Assurances) PRESS NOTE 07 Apr 2025 The Wings of Hope Charitable Trust conducted a simple but significant interaction with 35 Widows of the current conflict in Manipur & few parents from relief camps. President of the Charitable Trust, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the benevolent doners & well wishers from all across the country, state & professions, specially to the friends in the Armed Forces. Our 1st year of project for the Education & Livelihood Support to the 31 Widows & 57 children has been possible only due to generous donations from them. The annual expenses out of these donations has been almost 12 lakhs for 2024-25. Every rupees donated is being judiciously use for these beneficiaries. The Trust has embarked on the Second year of its journey to Support 35 families & 58 school going children (56 Orphans & 2 IDP children) for their continuing education, ranging from nursery to class 12. The Trust has also taken another landmark step to assist a dozen widows to be trained as Team Leaders to half a dozen Self Help Groups (SHGs). These groups will try to supplement alternative means of Livelihood in their respective villages. These women are all from the peripheral areas of the valley district like - Phayeng, Sekmai, Oksu Ningthemcha, Senjam Chirang etc. They have all been adversely affected by the crisis wherein their sole bread earners, mostly daily wagers, succumbed to the unfortunate clashes that broke out on 03 May 2023. We are hopeful that our benevolent friends will continue to support us and help us in the 2md years mission. Yours sincerely, Lt. Col. L. Manongba (Retd) President, “The Wings of Hope” (www.thewingsofhope.in)
